Homemade Cleaners - The Best Window Cleaner

In my ongoing attempt to try homemade varieties of as many products as possible, I tried 4 different "recipes" for window cleaners and this is by far my favorite.  It doesn't leave any streaks and gets glass clean,  clean, clean!  My favorite scent is Litsea sold through Brambleberry.  It's a citrus mix that smells so refreshing and, well.... clean.  I use it for this as well as my homemade laundry soap.

I recycled a bottle that had a store bought cleaner in it, washed it out, tore off the label, and made my own label with the recipe on it so I don't have to hunt for the recipe each time I need to make more.  The nice thing is I typically have all the ingredients on hand so I don't have to make a special trip to the store when I need to make more.  It's easy enough to measure all your ingredients right into the spray bottle, shake and spray.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The Best Homemade Window Cleaner

1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
2 drops essential oil, or more to your liking, optional

Mix all ingredients together in a spray bottle.  Shake prior to each use.

  2. I'm going to try this, definitely. And what a great idea to put the recipe right on the label. Very handy!

  4. Cornstarch is for a bit of grit to help remove any dirt or grime. Hope this helps!!
